26 Months Old - Mom's Note

My little guy is 26 months old now. Some notes on his physical and emotional developments:

- He is now able to make sentences when he converses with us. Sometimes it can be rather difficult to understand his words, but most of the time he can speak quite clearly.
- He can now memorize more songs lyrics. I have been teaching him some Indonesian children songs, and he seems to have great interest in learning them. In fact, he shows keenness in singing and music. Although he can't sing the lyrics very well, his tunes are pretty good. He also like to listen to songs on CD's or watch the concert DVD's.
- He eats quite a lot now. On good days, he can eat one full adult bowl of rice with other dishes in less than 30 minutes. He drinks quite a lot of milk too. He drinks about 250ml of fresh full cream milk, 3 times a day. Since he doesn't drink formula milk anymore, I give him additional supplements (multivitamins).
- When it comes to socializing with friends, he can play quite well with his peers. But he likes younger friends even more. Some says, he is longing for a younger brother/sister to play with :) However, there are times when he can become possessive of his toys and refuses to share. Generally, he is one friendly little boy, who likes to meet and greet others.
- He started to show more interest in holding a pencil and scribble on paper (although it does not last very long). He also started to show interest in learning. I try as much as possible to integrate his learning with his play time, e.g. when we are playing with his Lego blocks, I would ask him to grab one of a certain color. Or when I bathe him, we sometimes use the soap bubbles to write some alphabets on our glass shower screen. He now knows A, B, C, O and E.
