28 Months Old - Mom's Note

At 28 months old:

- Successfully weaned from the bottle. He now drinks his milk from a cup (no straw, no sippies) and no longer takes ages to finish his milk. He drinks 2-3 cups of fresh milk per day, but now he would always ask for Milo (fresh milk mixed with Milo/Ovaltine powder).

- Learned 90% of the alphabets now. Still mixed up with the letter J, K, L and Z. Knows some of the numbers too, mostly 1-5.

- Shows great interest in singing and memorizing songs. Sometimes we caught him trying to sing "Hallelujah Chorus" and "For Unto Us A Child Is Born" from the Messiah Oratorio by Handel. He also loves to sing (loudly) in public places and transports.

- Crazy about straws! Wherever we go, especially when we pass a drink stall, fastfood place or foodcourts, he'd ask for a straw. He can whine all day long until he gets his straw. Once he gets it, he would just hold on to it for the rest of our journey. If we ask him what he needs the straw for, he'd say that it is for conducting! (He watches our Messiah concert DVD with a straw in his hand and he would pretend that he is conducting the orchestra).

- Super friendly little guy he is. He insists that he must say Hi or Bye Bye to literally everyone he meets - our neighbours, the bus driver, the uncles who sit in the kopitiam, the cashier in the supermarket, the jie jies who just pass by, the MRT staff, the MRT passengers that he is leaving behind, and the list continues.

- Likes to get food samples given away in malls. His favorite is Bee Cheng Hiang's bak kwas at Tampines Mall. It gets to the point when the uncles and aunties who give the samples away now recognise him and would call him to give some samples when they see him coming by :D

- Loves cuddling babies. Loves animals, especially cats, dogs and fish.

- Has a remarkable memory. He still remembers the sign language from the DVDs that he has not watched for months. He also learns faster from repetition. He can learn a new song in three days, as long as we sing it to him repeatedly during this period. He can remember names and associate them (e.g. Noah's brother is Baby Johan)

- Often makes funny remarks, loves to joke around, and can be very playful - especially if there is someone else (a friend) who he can be playful with.

- Loves talking on the phone. Whether it is with real persons or with his own imaginary ones. He can be very convincing in doing this - "Hallo ... *silent*... Siapa ni? (Who's this?) ... *silent* ... Lagi apa? (What are you doing?) ... Oh ya ya ... OK ... Nanti telpon lagi ya (Call you later) ... Bye ... See You ... *click!*"

- Can be very stubborn sometimes, but still can be reasoned with.

- Starting to ask more questions: "Ini apa?" (What is this?), "Kenapa?" (Why?)

- Weighed at 15 kg and height at 95 cm.
