29 Months Old - Mom's Note

At 29 months old:

- Knows 95% of the alphabets, some numbers, and basic colours (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue). Starting to learn some Mandarin words, but only very few of them.

- Starting to like meat and seafood. He would ask for chicken and prawn occassionally.

- Can say a word in both Indonesian & English. When he sees a tree, he'd say "Pohon!", then followed by "Tree!"

- Still cannot stand the sound of phone ringing (he'd demand us to pick up the phone), or the beeping sound of the microwave, or any loud noise.

- Can initiatively say: "Mamam enak, suka" (The food is yummy and I like it) or "Thank You, Ma!" during mealtimes :) Sometimes when he's really hungry or he sees the food he likes on the table, he'd quickly climb on to his chair and says his prayer by himself without having me asking him to do so.

- Can now argue about things, insisting on his wants. But generally he can be reasoned with and still respects authority.

- Starting to tell us if he wants to do 'number 1' and 'number 2'. Perhaps it is a sign that I should start potty training again soon.

- Can nap for 3 hours when he is at home. But outside is rather difficult. He can now go on the whole day without a nap when we are outside. But when this happens, he'd sleep earlier at night.

- Takes ages when he is to self-feed his own food. He only spoonfeed himself for the first 3-5 spoons, then he'd start playing with the food.

- Loves to help out, especially if he is in the mood. He knows where to put certain things back to their places.

- Can talk non-stop, sing very loudly (in his own lyrics and melodies), and joke around often. My life is definitely bland without him :)
