6-in-1 Vaccine Completed!

Today I had my 3rd dose of 6-in-1 vaccination. They are all completed now, and my next vaccination schedule is for MMR jab when I turn 15 months old. I now weigh 7.4kg and measure at around 69cm in height. Mom thinks that I need to be putting more weight. She's planning to increase my food and milk intake.
I am now eating solid food twice a day and breastfeeding 3-4 times a day. Usually in the mid-morning, I'd have rice cereal with fruit/veggie. In the evening, Mom would give me brown rice cereal with fruit. Mom makes sure that I eat fruit everyday so I won't get constipated. My fruit and veggie are all home-made, prepared by Mom. Usually, Mom would prepare in larger quantities, and freeze them in ice-cube trays (with lids on). Once frozen, she will take the cubes out of the tray and place them in a freezer bag. Whenever she needs to prepare my meal, she'd just defrost 1-2 cubes the night before, and heat them in the microwave. Isn't that easy? ;-)
So far, my favourite meal is Pear and Banana. Just offer me those, and I'd sit nicely on my chair and eat until the last bits :-)

Tonight's Bedtime Story is...

Someone suggested that I should use a hanky as a prop to go to sleep.
Mom decided to get creative with it :-D

Well, believe it or not, it kinda worked!

23 Weeks Old

Hey, I am 23 weeks old now. Mom said I grow too fast. Well, I do indeed :-)
I have been eating semi solid food pretty well so far. Mom has introduced me potato and apple puree. For the potato puree, it tasted a little weird to me for the first time. But now I can manage it quite well, especially if Mom mixes it with my usual rice cereal. But for the apple one, hmm...I still find the taste abit weird. I can still eat it if it is mixed with the rice cereal. But eating it alone, err I think I would need more time to get used to it.
Mom is going to introduce me to banana and brocoli soon. Hmm, I wonder how it'd taste...
Oh, Mom also said that I can now recognize familiar faces. When I see Mom, I'd reach out my hand so that she would carry me. If I see familiar faces, I'd give my biggest smile :-) For unfamiliar faces, well, a tiny weeny smile will do *he he he*

Po Po & Gong Gong in Town

Po Po and Gong Gong arrived today in Singapore to visit me, at the same time on their way for their cruise trip. They purposely came here earlier than scheduled because Mom specifically asked them to look after me for the whole of next week while she has to attend for a 5 full-day training sessions. Yes, my Mom is going back to work. Good thing is that once she starts her work, she will only need to come to office every Monday and Thursday (mostly for less than a full day). The rests of the day she will work from home. Aunt Cindy has also kindly arranged her schedule so that she could help my Mom look after me in the morning.
When I saw Po Po and Gong Gong arrived at the airport, I was delighted! I haven't seen them for a few months now. They were also very happy to see me and they obviously miss me alot :-) I am glad that I will get to be with them the whole next week :-)

Bandana Boy

This is what happen if it is already late at night and you still don't want to go to sleep.
Yeap, you get to be the Bandana Boy!
(In case you're wondering, that's not a real bandana that I am wearing. It's Dad's hanky :-P)

22 Weeks Old

For the past few days, I have been practising and perfecting my sitting skill. Most of the time, I like to sit down (instead of lying down) when I am on my pram. I also sit down on my bed or Mom's bed when playing (of course with Mom near my side to catch me in case I fall down on my face he he). Mom said I am getting better each day, but I still need lots of practise to improve myself :-P
Some said I look plumper now, and my tummy is abit more buldging too. And I have only started eating semi solid for less than a week :-D

Semi Solid - Day 2

On the second day of my semi-solid feeding, I got 'better'. Mom increased my portion of rice cereals to 2 teaspoons with the same consistency. But this time, I can a-i-m at the spoon. When the spoon is approaching, I'd waive my hand trying to grab it. So Mom has to maneuver the spoon so that it can safely go into my mouth and spillage is minimized :-P When the spoon is in my mouth, I can now suck and chew on it and I no longer stick my tongue out. Well, as predicted, I finish all my cereals in no time.

In fact, I also had a nice 'dessert' after my meal :-D

5 Months Old and 1st Time Solid

Today I turn 5 months old. It is a big day for me, because, it is also my first day of semi-solid feeding! *yippee*.
My first semi solid food is Heinz iron fortified rice cereal. Mom mixed 1.5 teaspoon of the cereal with fresh breast milk until it is of very thin consistency. Then she sat me down on the high chair. Dad got the camera ready. Aunt Cindy also prepared some stunts to entertain & cheer me up ;-)
At first spoon, I felt weird (and it showed on the quirky look on my face). I am just not used to eating things other than milk. My tongue kept sticking out too, hence the cereal spilled out of my mouth. But I did pretty good, as I finished all of them from my bowl. Mom and Dad gave me two thumbs up!

Sitting & Standing

Nowadays I like to try on sitting position. Not very good at it yet, as I still stumble down (sometimes I stumble forward, head first he he he). When sitting on the stroller, I also like to lean forward. Mom said now I don't like to be positioned half sitting/leaning backward so much. That way I can see more things, and also get seen by other people :P
I also like to stand up on Mom's or Dad's lap when they carry me. I can now carry my weight on both my legs very well. Mom usually don't let me do this for too long nor too often, because she is concerned that it will affect the development of my legs.

21 Weeks Old

I am 21 weeks old today, and soon going to be 5 months old *yippee!*. My hair is growing abit thicker and darker. Mom has snipped some of them twice because they were getting too long. Mom said recently I have become more clingy to her than usual (read: not wanting to be left alone or put down), especially at home. I'd fuss and ask her to carry me. Good thing, she always have her sling handy. If I still fuss, she'd bring me out to get fresh air.
I am still on total breastfeeding too. When Mom is unable to give the milk directly, I'd feed from the bottle. However, I am not very keen on feeding from the bottle. I always play around with the teat, latch for a while and then unlatch, or sometimes let the milk drip from the side of my mouth. And often, I'd drink longer than usual and not finish my milk. That's not the case if I am feeding directly from Mom. I'd take this method of feeding very s-e-r-i-o-u-s-l-y (read: once latched, always latched). Well, that's because Mom's ones are much more yummy :-)

Farewell to Auntie Maja & Family

Today we had a farewell party for Auntie Maja, Uncle Wili and Fei Fei Jie Jie. They are going to migrate to Salt Lake City - USA.
Auntie Maja & family, farewell and all the best! I am sure I, Mom and Dad are going to miss you. Thanks again for everything :-)

Conferencing

Every once in a while, I'd have a conference call with my Oma and Opa (as well as Aunt Sisi and Aunt Riri) by using Skype. They'd usually call me up at night, just before my bedtime. Aunt Cindy or my Dad would set up the laptop and connect it to the other side. Then I'd get ready and pose in front of the webcam as if I were to have a movie shooting (camera....and action!).

Sometimes, after talking for a while, I'd get sleepy and start to fuss. That's me signalling that I need to drop off and go to bed.

If you squint your eyes a tiny bit you can see my Oma on the laptop screen. Yes, the one with many round-round-thingy on her hair :-P

20 Weeks Old

As you may have guessed, I am not in a good mood today. But well, at least I have turned 20 weeks old :-) That's something to smile about!
I can now rollover by myself. I also sleep through the night, usually 8-9 hours. I am still on total breastfeeding. But Mom said she is going to introduce semi-solid food to me soon. *Yum!*

First Time Swimming

Today Mom, Dad and I were invited to Ashley Jie Jie & Elissa Jie Jie birthday party at Elissa Jie Jie's house near Bukit Gombak. I finally got a chance to swim for the first time, and yes, in a swimming pool! :-) There were also my other friends who joined the swim - Vai, Noah, Anya Jie Jie, Ashley Jie Jie, & Tania Jie Jie.

Mom dipped in the water with me while Dad took the pictures. The water was so cold that I got a bit of a shock when Mom plunged me in the pool. Mom also remembered to bring my swimming float so I could give it a first try :-)

Well, the fun did not last long, as you can see in this pic. I sooo needed to get out of this cold and freezing water!
