28 Weeks Old

Hey hey hey, I am 28 weeks old today. I now weigh 7.8kg. Mom's ecstatic about it, coz it means that my so-called diet program that she implements on me does work! I still eat 3 solid meals and breastfeed 3-4 times a day. Mom makes sure that I get all the nutrients that I need to grow strong and healthy. She also tries to breastfeed me as often as possible.
Eventhough I am not crawling yet, I am pretty active and could not stay still especially when people carry me. I am very curious at most things and always want to get my hands on them. I can't sit by myself either, but if I am put in sitting position in my cot, I'd try to hold on to the cot rails and pull myself up. It's scary coz I almost fall over, hence Mom and Dad lowered both my bassinet and my cot.
I am also still all gums, but Mom has introduced me to toothbrushing a few days a go. She uses a baby toothbrush with rubbery head and fluoride free toothpaste (with banana and apple flavour *yummy!*). So far I am OK with this new activity. I even find the toothpaste tastes pretty good ;-)
Today, I, Noah and Caden went for swimming at Caden's place. I really had a splendid time! Thanks Caden & Aunt Claudia for inviting me :-)

Skipping Stages

Hmm...looks like someone just wants to skip 'sitting' and 'crawling' stages altogether, and go straight to 'standing'!
See the determination.
Guess Mom and Dad would need to remove the bassinet and lower the mattress position.

27 Weeks Old

I am now 27 weeks old. I sleep for 8-10 hours throughout every night. Mom has been very pleased with my progress on this one. Mom has also been training me to sleep on my own. So every night, after a nice warm bath, she'd breastfeed me and then sometimes she or Dad would read me a Bible story. When I start to get sleepy, she'd put me on my bassinet to sleep on my own. Well, it doesn't always work. I'd occassionally cry very loud, asking Mom to pick me up. But there are also times when I just lie down, play with the toys on my bed, and then fall asleep by myself. My learning continues :-)
Recently, I eat my food very very well. I'd finish the biggest meal portion Mom's prepared for me (5-6 heaped tablespoons of cereals mixed with 80-100ml breastmilk), and sometimes with dessert soon after too! Mom said if I continue to eat like this, I'd grow big and strong very fast :-) Mom has also given me baby yoghurt, and to her surprise, I like it! Mom is trying her best to give me home-cooked meals most of the time. I like most of the food given to me, they are all so yummy! :-D

Me In My Duckie

Finally, I can now try out my duckie rubber bath tub. My Opa bought this for me months ago, and has been wanting to see me using it.
This tub is really good! It is very cosy (coz of its soft surface) and you can press the duck's mouth to hear the quacking sound ;-)
Thanks Opa for this great gift!

Outgrown My Bassinet

Uh-oh! Someone has definitely outgrown his basssinet. I now like to kneel down (from sitting position. Of course, I am not sitting by myself yet) and holding on to the rail/side of my bassinet/cot. My other cot, in the nursery room, has been adjusted to a lower position. However this bassinet, which is inside my Mom and Dad's room is not adjustable. The only way is to remove the entire bassinet, hence it becomes a playpen.
Mom thinks, perhaps soon it is time for me to sleep on my own, in my own cot in the nursery room.

Nope, I am not trying to hail a cab here.
I am trying to sit unsupported.
I did it for more than a couple of minutes! *Yay*

6 Months Old

Hey, hey, hey, look who's 'half-a-year' old today! Mom and Dad often could not believe how fast time flies. People always say that you will not really feel how time goes by when raising a child. Day by day passes like minutes or even seconds!
About my solid food, Mom has been giving different types of fruit and veggies for me to try. Anything on the recipe book, you name it! Pumpkin, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, avocados, papayas, brocolli, apples, pears, bananas, and many more. Mom really wants me to experience different types of food so that I would not grow up to be a fussy eater. Now that I am 6 months old now, the range of food that can be offered to me will be even greater.
These recent days, I have been very clingy to Mom. When I wake up from sleep, I'd cry and only want to be carried by Mom (Dad often tries to soothe me, but to no avail).
I am still toothless today. But having been fussy lately, Mom thinks that I am going to cut a tooth. She has given me teething rusks to bite and chew. We shall update you again if the pearlie whites have started to show their appearance ;-)

Home to Singapore

Today I, Mom and Dad are going back to Singapore. Time does fly when we have fun :-). Opa, Oma, Auntie Sisi and Auntie Riri saw us off at the airport. They all wish that I can stay in Jakarta longer. However, it is time for me to go back and Singapore is my home now :-)
Don't worry, whenever there is another chance, Mom & Dad will surely bring me to Jakarta again.
The journey back to Singapore was pretty smooth too. I didn't sleep much. I even met a friend and her name is Laura. She and her parents sat next to us and they were on their way to Frankfurt.
Auntie Cindy picked us up at the airport. Good thing she was there, therefore we had some assistance with our luggage :-P

Too Much of Good Food

Mom & Dad have been having too much of good food during our stay in Jakarta. We went to eat Padang (Sederhana), Sundanese (Cianjur, Pondok Laguna), Chinese (Angke, Famili Ria Sunter) and others (Soto Mie, Mpekpek, Sate Padang, Bakmi Gajah Mada). One week is never enough to taste all the good food in Jakarta.
Below are some of the photos taken after dinner at Pondok Laguna with my Gong Gong, Po Po, Akyu (read: Uncle) Tawa, Koko Evan and Koko Edbert.

25 Weeks Old

I am 25 weeks old and soon going to be 6 months old :-) I can now rotate 360 degree when I am put on my tummy. Still crawling backwards (or you can call it reverse crawling he he he :-P ), but occasionally I can make a tiny forward move whenever I am in the mood.
I can sit, but I still support my position with my 2 hands.
Eventhough I am easy with most people, I'd still look for Mom especially when I am tired and hungry or when it is dark (e.g. like in the car during nighttime). If I can't find Mom, I'd cry my lungs out and usually nothing and no one can soothe me.
I now eat solids 3 times a day: cereals/rice/potatoes in the mid-morning, fruit in the afternoon, and rusks/veggies in the evening. I also still breastfeed about 3 times a day too.

Me a Star

Wow, in just a couple of days, I have met soooo many people! They all said that I have grown up. They also adore my big eyes and pointy nose :-P Yes, my family dote on me so much until Mom & Dad are abit worried that I'd get spoiled over there. Most of people also said that I am a friendly baby because I never refuse when other people want to carry me. Maybe because I am so used to meeting so many new people in Singapore, especially at our church. All the people at church are so friendly, therefore I am not afraid of meeting new people :-)
The picture on the left is me with Koko Edbert and Koko Evan. They are my older cousins, from Mom's side of the family. I also met Lawrence (from Dad's side of the family) who is just 2 months younger than me. I was so excited to meet him until I was all over him (read: pulling his mitten and sucking on his socks). Well, I am sure he feels the same way about me :-)
From Mom's side, I have 9 cousins. From Dad's side I don't have any yet, but I have many other 'cousins' (they are mostly the children of Dad's cousins. Lawrence is one of them). I am yet to meet all of them. How exciting!

2nd Trip To Jakarta

Yippee, I am going to Jakarta with Mom & Dad today. I can't wait, and so do my family back in Jakarta. To Mom, this trip is going to be a challenge because she has to do some work for her current job, and I am now eating solid food. This means that she has to bring back lots of food prep gadgets & prepare my meal while we are in Jakarta. Last time it was much simpler, she just breastfed me whenever I was hungry.

Nevertheless, the 3 of us are excited that we are going to Jakarta and meet our relatives! :-)

I was quite OK on the plane. I slept for about half an hour shortly after we took off. And then I spent the rest of the journey just playing around and being curious of my surroundings. Our flight was earlier than usual, hence when we arrived at the airport, Opa & Oma have not arrived to pick us up. They finally came about 30 minutes later. We went straight for dinner and came back home afterwards.

Oh, today is also Mom's & Auntie Sisi's birthday. Happy Birthday, Mom! Happy Birthday, Auntie Sisi! Lots of kisses and hugs from me :-)

24 Weeks Old & Church Outing

Hey, I am 24 weeks old now and today is the Labour Day. Today the three of us went on a church outing nearby Esplanade. I had so much fun! It is always exciting to be going on a field trip like this.
As for updates on myself, I now like to make 'pprrttt' sound (thanks to my Gong Gong who taught me how to do it). Mom finds it a nuisance especially when it comes to my feeding time.
Mom introduced me to Farley Rusks, and I love them! I also eat potatoes & brocolli too. Mom has given me Avocados, but I don't like them as much. Sometimes I can gulp all my food quickly, but there are also times when I'd fuss and refuse to eat. So I am not always happy and cheerful when it comes to eating time. I still like and enjoy breastfeeding though.
I also start to lift up my butt when I am on my tummy, and then I'd push my legs to the back. As the result, I now crawl 'backwards' he he he.

Hanging Out

This is me in my usual hang-out place every Sunday.
Yes, it is the Crying Room at our church in Queenstown.
This is where I'd meet and play with my other buddies (like Noah, Vai, Andrew, etc) while Mom listens to the sermon.
