Baking With Mom

Mom has been wanting to do this activity with me since a long long time ago. And now that we have an oven at home, we could finally get to do this and I am so glad that we did it :)

We made star-shaped butter cookies. Mom mixed all the ingredients, then she kneaded and rolled the dough. I got to cut the dough using the star cookie cutter :) It was FUN!
Mom then placed all the already-cut dough on to the baking tray and bake them for about 15 minutes.

And voila! The results are as shown below.
And yes, it is as yummy as it looks :D

27 Months Old - Mom's Note

On this Valentine's day today, Nathan is 27 months old. When we look at baby clothes, I and my husband can get quite sentimental sometimes. We could not remember him being this small ever before. I am certain that next year, we would be saying the same thing again. So before we forget the details, I'd better jot them down:

- We have started Nate to drink his milk from a glass, and no longer from the bottles. In fact, we have been wanting to do this but we have been delaying it. Recently we went to a dentist, and she told us that it is better to get Nate to stop drinking from the bottle as soon as possible as it is harmful to his teeth. This sudden change has not been easy on Nate, as much as it has not on us. He'd spill his milk and drink it at a super slow rate. I guess it takes time for him to get used to it. He still drink fresh milk, but I would mix in Milo or Nesquick for his morning feed occasionally.
- He has learned more of alphabets and colors. He now knows A, B, C, D, E, F, I, N, O, T, and W. He knows the color Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. He can count from 1-10 in both English and Indonesian.
- He still love singing very much. Some of the songs that he can memorize are: Amazing Grace, Into My Heart, God is So Good, Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jesus Loves The Little Children, Kasih Ibu (Indonesian folk song), Pelangi (Indonesian), Memuji Tuhan Selalu (Indonesian), Haleluya Puji Tuhan (Indonesian), Bapa Terima Kasih (Indonesian). He also loves listening to "Hallelujah Chorus" and "For Unto Us A Child Is Born" from the Messiah Oratorio by Handel.
- Sometimes, he can be emotionally challenging. Although it is not really apparent, he actually is a sensitive little boy. He can be terribly sad if he feels that he is not loved or if he is pushed away.
- He's been off his inhaler for almost a month now. By right, he is supposed to use his Flixotide twice a day to prevent his asthma. But since we went to Jakarta for Chinese New Year, we kinda stopped using it on him and he has been quite OK until now. No more coughing or wheezing. No more phlegm either. We are keeping our fingers crossed, hoping that he has outgrow this phase and will no longer need his inhaler anymore.
